Clear passwords stored in apps

Most of the apps for Android that require authenticated access to a local service, to an Internet site or, in general, to a protected section, allow you to save your password to speed up the login operation.

Erase passwords stored on Android from these apps it is almost always possible, however I must tell you right away that there is no standard procedure to perform this operation, so it is not possible for me to provide you with precise details on each existing app: all the pages of my site would not be enough to satisfy this request!

What I can do, however, is to direct you to the steps to be taken in a "generic" way: usually, all that needs to be done is start the app the password for which you have stored, access his main menu or to the area settings of the same (in many cases, you can do this by tapping the buttons (⋮), [...](I.e.) and select the items Exit / Logout Disconnect / Disconnect to log out of the saved account.

The app should then redirect you to the password entry screen again. If the latter was saved in the input box in the form of dots, you simply need to uncheck the box Remember Me / Remember Me or, alternatively, press the button Forget me / Forget and that's it: the password will be immediately forgotten by the app and Android!

Just to clarify your ideas further, below I illustrate the procedures to be performed on some of the most popular apps for Android.

  • Facebook - presses the button , scroll down the panel that appears on the screen and touch the item Logout.
  • Instagram - move to the area Profile by touching the icon in the shape of avatar located at the bottom right, tap the button , then the button ⚙ Settings and finally, the voice Logout.
  • Just Eat - sfiora il pulsating  and tap on the item Logout.
  • Outlook - go to a folder in your mailbox (eg. Incoming mail), press the button ☰, then the button (I.e. and finally tap on the item related to yours Postal address and play the voice Delete account.

Note: The password stored in the default Google apps associated with the system account (eg. gmailGoogle Maps and so on).

Clear passwords stored on Chrome for Android

To feel more comfortable, you also intend to clear all passwords saved in Google Chrome for Android? Then I think I have excellent news for you: it is a very simple operation and that can be completed in a couple of taps!

To proceed, launch the app Google Chrome calling it from the drawer or home screen of your Android device, tap the button (⋮) resident at the top right and, in the menu that appears, touch the item Password. At this point, select il website for which you intend to delete the password saved on the device and, subsequently, touch the icon in the shape of basket which appears at the top of the summary window. Finally, repeat the same operation for all saved passwords.

As an additional security measure, you can also delete the passwords saved on the Gmail account associated with your Android device: however, keep in mind that this operation will involve deleting the passwords from all browsers associated with that account, including the computer and iOS versions of Chrome.

Do you want to do it anyway? No problem! Go once again to the Chrome for Android menu by tapping the button (⋮), tap on the item Password and then on the link Google Account placed in the appropriate section. If necessary, type the Password of your Gmail profile, go to the section Saved passwords and tap on the button X corresponding to each password you intend to delete.

Note: if the link is not visible because, for example, you have already deleted all the passwords saved by Chrome on the device, you can delete the passwords stored on the Gmail account by acting on the section Passwords Google, accessible through this link, and following the same instructions reported above.

Wait, are you telling me that you would like a practical way to get rid of passwords saved in other browsers? Then take a look at my article on how to delete password saving, in which I was able to explain in detail the steps to take to achieve this result.

Stop saving passwords

Now that you've finally cleared all your saved passwords in Chrome for Android (and possibly your Google account as well), you can make sure to stop Chrome from saving them (and asking you to).

I'll explain immediately how to do it: to start, start the browser on your Android device, tap the button (⋮) located at the top right and choose the item Password from the proposed menu. At this point, you simply have to move up OFF the corresponding levetta alla voce Save password and, if necessary, remove the check mark from the box next to the item Automatic access.

If you wish, you can stop the password saving request also within your Gmail account: however, keep in mind that this operation involves all associated browsers to your account, which will no longer be able to store new access keys in your remote account.

To proceed, connected to the Google Passwords service, enter, if necessary, the login credentials of your Google account and, finally, move to OFF the corresponding levetta alla voce Ask to save passwords. It wasn't difficult at all, was it?
