Preliminary information
Before talking to you about app to store passwords, it is important to explain to you how to create "strong" ones to make sure that your accounts are safe.
Of course, you must take into consideration that a password is more effective if it is not directly linked to your personal information and if it turns out to be complex enough.
A strong password can, however, be difficult to remember, I understand you! But if you really want to protect yourself from any attempts to access your accounts, you must necessarily avoid insecure passwords.
In any case, you will not need to remember them, because the apps I will talk about in the next chapters will take care of them, to do it for you.
Therefore, given the premise, even before going into the heart of this guide, I advise you to carefully read my "vademecum" to create a secure password.
- Use long passwords: the longer a password is, the more difficult it will be for an attacker to intercept it. Therefore, use passwords that are between 15 and 18 characters in length. The apps I'll recommend in the second part of this tutorial come with great password generators, so you don't even have to be inventive in doing this.
- Choose nonsense words: if you use nonsense words as a password that include numbers, letters and symbols (!, ?, £, $, %, &, etc.), malicious people will not be able to guess them using classic dictionary-based attacks. Absolutely avoid using your name, date of birth or other information about you (and that can be easily guessed) in your password.
- Use different passwords for each account: if you do not follow this important advice and unfortunately the password you use is intercepted, all your accounts would be in serious danger. Much better "safe than sorry" by using different passwords for each individual account.
- Change password periodically: no password is 100% secure. To try to put a spoke in the wheel of the bad guys who try to capture your passwords, change them periodically, perhaps every 30/60 days.
You can find other helpful tips related to creating (and managing) secure passwords by reading my tutorial on how to manage passwords.
App to save passwords
Now is the time to recommend the best ones app to save passwords. I am sure you will greatly appreciate the password managers that are listed in the next paragraphs and, by following my advice, you will be able to use them to the fullest.
I have already talked about some of these services in the guide on how to manage passwords, delving into aspects related especially to the desktop side. In the following paragraphs, however, I will focus exclusively on mobile apps.
1Password (Android / iOS / iPadOS)
If you are looking for aapp to save passwords in cittàn, I can recommend one of the best around: 1Password. It is an app for Android and iOS / iPadOS (as well as for PC) that can be downloaded for free; however, the service on which it is based is paid: after a period of 30 day trial, you must take out a subscription of $ 2,99 / month ** (to be paid in a single annual installment) or ** $ 4,99 / month (if you prefer the family plan, always to be paid in a single annual payment).
The interface of this app, its ease of use and the many features it offers users may really tempt you to purchase. However, feel free to make the decision of your choice at the end of the trial.
After downloading the 1Password on your Android or iOS / iPadOS device, open the latter by tapping the button apri or by pressing on its icon that you find on the Home screen (or in the drawer on Android).
Then he presses the buttons sign up now e Try free for 30 days, to start the free trial of the password manager, which will allow you to pay for the subscription at the end of the trial period (via the reference store on your device).
Once this is done, enter your email in the field Email Address and press pulsating Continue. At this point, you will be sent a verification code consisting of 6 digits: enter it in the appropriate field and press again on Continue. In the screen that opens, enter your name in the field Name and surname and confirm once again by pressing the button Continue.
Now the long awaited time has come to enter yours Master Password, that is the general password that will allow you to access all the others stored within the app. After typing it presses the button Continue and, in the screen that opens, enter your Master Password again and confirm your intention to access your account by tapping the button Log in.

To do this, press the symbol capacitor positive (+) lead in its main screen and, in the box that is shown to you, select the item Access to choose the account you want to protect (Google, Facebook, gmail, Yahoo!, etc.) and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the operation.
Alternatively you can press on the option Password, to store a certain password, or Email Account, if you want to save a password specifically linked to your e-mail address. When you store a new password with 1Password, you can tap on theicona dell'ingranaggio alongside the field Password, to automatically generate a secure password consisting of the type and number of characters you prefer. Convenient as a solution, don't you think?
Pigging on your pulse capacitor positive (+) lead, you can also access functions that allow you to store and protect personal documents and other sensitive items. For example, selecting the option Safe note you can save annotations by selecting the option Credit card you can save your credit card details by selecting Identity you can save your identity card data and so on.
1Password also allows you to insert attachments, such as photos or software license files, to your safes. All data, then, can be synchronized on multiple devices via the 1Password cloud, via Dropbox, iCloud or locally via the wireless network of your home network. Also very interesting is the possibility of using 1Password to generate single-use codes for two-factor authentication.

NordPass (Android / iOS / iPadOS)
North Pass is one of the best password managers currently available on the market, both in mobile and desktop. It was developed by the same company that offers the famous NordVPN VPN service and has everything you need to securely manage not only your passwords, but also credit card data and other sensitive information (e.g. license codes). software), which can be saved as encrypted notes.
The application allows you to keep all your data in a safe protected with a master password chosen by the user; then allows you to generate secure passwordsI will compile automatically i login module, create cartelle in which to divide the data that are stored in the safe and much more: all being able to count on a certified military grade encryption, which guarantees full data security, and having the ability to synchronize information on all your devices.
NordPass is in fact available as an app for Android e iOS / iPadOS but you can also use sui PC Windows and on Mac, where the appropriate browser extensions are also available Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Opera e Safari. Its basic version is completely free and does not provide for limits on the number of data that can be kept in the safe or of devices that can be synchronized with your account; however, in order to use the service simultaneously on a maximum number of 6 devices (in the free version, you can log in on only one device at a time), activate the sharing of the data in the safe and use the function relating to trusted contacts , it is necessary to pass to the plan NordPass Premium which costs 2,49 euros / month. More info here.
Having made the necessary clarifications above, let's take action. If you want to download the NordPass app on your device Android, search for it in the Play Store and press the button Install; if you use a terminal on which the Google Play Store is not present, you can proceed through third-party stores (eg those you find mentioned here). If you have a iPhone or iPad, you can find NordPass on the App Store and install the application by tapping the button Get and then verifying your identity through Face ID, touch ID o password dell'ID Apple.
Once installation is complete, start the NordPass app and, if you want, start populating your safe with data from login, safe notes, credit cards o cartelleby pressing the button ADD ITEM and choosing the element to create from the menu that is proposed to you. I, however, recommend that you first create a account (or to log in), so you can protect your safe with a master password and activate data synchronization between all your devices.
To do so, go to the section Menu NordPass and press the button Create free account, if you want to create a new free account (just enter your email address in the field provided, type the security code you will receive via email and set the account password), or on the button Login, if you want to log in with your account (you can also use a NordVPN account). Once this is done, set the master password to protect your safe by carefully following the on-screen instructions and be sure to save it in a safe place (along with the recovery code that will be provided to you).
Once this is done, you can add new items to your safe as explained above, i.e. by going to the section Home NordPass by pressing the button ADD ITEM (or on that capacitor positive (+) lead, if you have already added items previously), choosing the type of content to add, filling out the form that is proposed to you and pressing the save button. To generate a secure password, you can press on the item Generate passwords present in the form for creating login data or in the section Menu of the app: you can also choose the characteristics of the password to be created, such as the length and type of characters to include in it.
If you want, you can too import login data that you have saved in the browsers installed on your device: to do this, go to the section Menu> Settings> Import Logins NordPass application, choose the browser from which to import passwords and follow the on-screen instructions.
Another very useful function of NordPass is that relating to automatic compilation of login forms: to activate it on Android, go to section Menu> Settings> Enable Autofill for mobile apps in the NordPass app, press the button OPEN ACCESSIBILITY SETTINGS and give the application all the necessary permissions by moving to ON the levetta relating to North Pass and giving confirmation.
Then go back to the section Menu> Settings> Enable Autofill for mobile apps NordPass, press the button OPEN AUTOFILL SERVICES, check the box for NordPass Autofill service and by confirmation. This way you can use NordPass to automatically fill in login forms in your browser.
If you have one iPhone or iPadinstead, to activate the automatic completion of login forms you have to go to the menu Settings> Passwords and Accounts> Autofill (on iOS 14 and later you have to go up Settings> Password) and tick the entry for NordPass.
For the rest, it's all very intuitive that I don't think there is much need to say. To copy information from the NordPass safe, all you have to do is start the app, enter the master password, go to the section Home, select theelement which contains the information to be copied (eg the name of a site) and press the appropriate button copy.
To change an item in the safe, move it to a folder or delete it, instead, you have to go to the section Home of NordPass, press the ⋮ button corresponding to it and choose one of the items in the menu that appears at the bottom. Easier than that ?!
If you need more information on NordPass, I recommend that you consult the official website of the service. If, on the other hand, you want to learn more about how the desktop variant of the application works, you can also consult my tutorial on the best password programs.

If you want aapp per salvare password free, then you can rely on Bitwarden. It is a completely free and open source service characterized by an advanced encrypted password system that can only be unlocked by the user, although they are stored on the company's servers. There is also a paid version of the app (10 $ / year) that allows you to host your data on a local server, increase the space for storing documents to 1GB and have other interesting functions.
That said, let's take action. The app of Bitwarden it can be downloaded on both Android and iOS / iPadOS, taking it from the respective virtual stores. In case you want more information about Bitwarden, perhaps also in relation to desktop clients, I suggest you consult my guide on programs to generate passwords.
KeePass (Android / iOS / iPadOS)
If you are looking for a completely free and open source password manager, you can try too KeePass: a free service that can be used in both desktop and mobile versions with extreme ease.
Its only flaw - if we want to define it that way - lies in the fact that it does not automatically synchronize data with the cloud and it is necessary to do this manually using one of the many cloud storage services available on the market: Google Drive, Dropbox etc.
If you are interested in using KeePass on your smartphone / tablet, try the applications that I will recommend in the next paragraphs. Why am I speaking in the plural? Because there are no official KeePass apps, but many independent free solutions that exploit its source code (in this regard, always pay attention to the ones you choose, because not all of them could be equally valid and safe). However, here are the ones that I think are most interesting for Android and iOS / iPadOS.

SyncPass (iOS / iPadOS)
If you are looking for aapp to keep passwords on iPhone or iPad, you can install several interesting ones based on the KeePass code. One of them is SyncPass, a free app that allows you to securely store passwords on your iOS / iPadOS device and create KeePass 1.x and 2.x files.
After installing the app on your device via the App Store, open it and press the symbol capacitor positive (+) lead to create a new database. Then enter in the field Your name the name you want to assign to your database, type in the field Password your master password and confirm the operation by pressing the command Done.
In the screen that opens, tap on the name of the database and type the password associated with it again, in order to access it. Once you have logged into your database, choose one of the predefined groups, based on the type of information you want to keep, and then press the icon capacitor positive (+) lead at the bottom, selecting the option Entry.
All you have to do is type in all the information to be saved using the appropriate fields and then confirm your intention to store them using the key Save up.
